The One Native Lupine Mural
The One Native Lupine Mural was designed by a senior in Bangor High School's Visual & Performing Arts Academy, Jaeda Grosjean. The mural was painted over 3 days by Jaeda and students from Bangor and Brewer with help from their art teachers and Bangor Beautiful board members. The students were able to learn more about art and engage with their community while creating something truly beautiful.Â
The mural depicts Sun Dial Lupine, the one species of lupine that was native to Maine. It is now classified as locally extinct, displaced by the aggressive, non-native Bigleaf Lupine that we are familiar with seeing along roadsides in early summer. Learn more about Maine's real lupine here.
Thank you to the students and volunteers who gave their time, skill, and passion to make this this project possible.
This project was funded by past donations. You can support future murals by donating to our Public Art Fund.
